Bed bugs are parasites with patience

 

They are a resilient, resistant species and can lay dormant for up to a year waiting for a food source (that would be you) to become available.  They’re hitchhikers and can travel from person to person.  Even just one Bedbug can lead to a large sized infestation.  They like to hide in many places such as trash, litter, debris, crevices in sofas, clothing, blankets, backpacks, luggage, cribs, mattresses, springs, bed frames, cracks in walls or ceiling, outlets, recliners, and even hardwood floors.

 

These parasites can tell when a person is sleeping based on their CO2 emissions and become more active during these periods.  Because some bed bugs can neutralize the reaction to their bites, infestations can go on for months unnoticed.  The size of the problem by the time they call a professional is usually a good indicator.  Other customers we’ve served may have felt embarrassment and tried to self-treat prolonging the problem and making the bedbugs more resistant.
